About Us

Efforts to establish PEN Nepal began in 1987, and it was accepted by PEN International in 1988. Formal recognition from the government of Nepal was sanctioned by the Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai after the success of the democratic movement in 1990. In 2000, it ran into difficulties because of the armed conflict in Nepal and once more formal government registration was secured in 2002. PEN Nepal was registered for the second time at the Chief District Office, Kathmandu on th 21st August of that year. At present, PEN Nepal has more than 50 members… MORE
